In the procedures of making and adopting spatial plans, the public’s participation is assured by Law. The start of the making of each spatial plan is announced in the public media (for example in the Novi List newspaper) and on the website of the town/municipality or County who is initiating the making of the spatial plan. In the course of making each spatial plan there is one obligatory public discussion and sometimes more of them. The interested public give suggestions about the proposed spatial plan which can be accepted or not, and which are the basis for the finishing of the plan.
Apart from participating in the course of the making of the plan, the public can be included in the spatial planning in a way that they initiate the making of the spatial plan.
