Space is not an inexhaustible resource. The proverb says: “We haven’t inherited the land from our grandfathers, we’ve borrowed it from our grandchildren!” In other words, by satisfying the needs of today’s generation the same possibilities for satisfying the needs of future generations must also be taken into consideration.
Spatial planning provides the conditions for the use, protection and management of a space as a particularly valuable and limited asset. In doing so the presumptions for social and economic development, the protection of the environment and nature, the quality of construction and the rational use of natural and cultural assets are achieved.
